MCIT collaborates with the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, the Sheriff's Association and the Chiefs of Police to offer the PATROL program (Police Accredited Training On Line). PATROL is a web-based training program specifically designed for patrol officers providing training on the most recent critical legal developments from the legislature and the courtroom.

In 2010 the program will offer classes that meet OSHA standards on bloodborne pathogens and POST mandates on use of force. All monthly topics are one hour in length and are POST certified. The cost of participation is $85 per year per officer.

Presently 21 counties have subscribed to the program and 443 officers are now enrolled in the training. Counties have appreciated the program because it provides quality information and POST credits without the typical expenses associated with training such as mileage, lodging and overtime.
