Getting It Right: Complying with the Minnesota Open Meeting Law
Dec. 5, 10:15 a.m.
Presented by Jennifer Wolf and Sonya Guggemos, Senior Staff Counsel for Risk Control, MCIT
Elected officials are legally required to conduct business in a public forum. A violation of the Open Meeting Law can affect the credibility of the organization and its leaders, as well as expose them to litigation, fines and penalties. This session covers components of the law that often trip up commissioners and county staff, and provides tips for sidestepping these pitfalls.
MCIT provides resources at MCIT.org/resource/ to help members comply with the Minnesota Open Meeting Law.
Members can learn more about and register for the AMC Conference at MNCounties.org under the Meetings & Education tab.
