Consultation for Risk Management and Loss Control Efforts
MCIT offers no-cost consultation to members for both risk management and loss control. MCIT consultants are dedicated to assisting members with ways to reduce their risk exposures, mitigate risks and prevent claims across their operations.
EAP Supports Staff with Personal Concerns
The MCIT Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a risk management tool designed to provide employees of MCIT members and their dependents access to a qualified counselor to assist in resolving personal concerns that may affect performance at work. The no-cost service is voluntary and confidential.
Create a Culture of Safety with Work Wisely Program
The MCIT-created Work Wisely program helps members foster a positive culture of safety. When all people of an organization embrace and value safety, the frequency and severity of workplace injuries and illnesses decrease.
The Work Wisely program helps members build and support a positive safety culture:
- Encourage each employee to become a safety advocate.
- Boost the safety mindset of employees.
- Improve safety behaviors.
Work Wisely is a growing initiative that encourages general safety behaviors that apply to all types of work and highlights specific hazards and their solutions. The program provides ready-to-use materials at no cost.
Online Training for Law Enforcement
BETTER TRAINED, BETTER DECISIONS, BETTER RESULTS
Well-trained peace officers make better decisions in the field, which contributes to increased public safety while reducing members’ losses.
PATROL (Peace officer Accredited Training Online) offers convenient and effective training for law enforcement officers. It is a Web-based, on-demand training program that enables deputies to meet most of their annual classroom training requirements without taking time off of work or incurring travel expenses (e.g., mileage, lodging, food) and overtime pay.
Speaker Services for Member Training, Association Events
MCIT can provide individual members or affiliated associations with virtual or in-person training presentations to help manage risks and reduce losses. Speaker services are provided as part of membership in MCIT. Availability is based upon MCIT staff schedules.
Minnesota Safety Council Membership Provided to All MCIT Members
All MCIT member organizations are members of the Minnesota Safety Council. The mission of the Safety Council is to make Minnesota a safer and healthier place to live by helping prevent unintentional injuries at home, on the road, at work and at play.
